MONUMENTAL EVIDENCE

MONUMENTAL EVIDENCE FOR ETERNITY

We already have evidence of building that happened before farming and before language in many places around the world: Stonehenge, Avebury and Silbury Hill in England; Newgrange in Ireland; the Pyramids in Egypt; earthen mounds in North America; pyramid complexes in Mexico and structures in South America that all defy understanding. India, China, the Far East and the Middle East have profound works that confound our imagination, all built during the earliest of times. Almost all these efforts require the lifting of megaton-sized stones.

If we knew what these monuments were about and had an idea of how and why they were built, then, we would be just as knowledgable as the builders. But we don’t know what they are about. The archaeologist responsible for the passage tomb in Newgrange admits that the archaeology community has no idea what these structures were built to convey.

At a lecture at UBC on Nov 13, 2013, Mark Lehner, head archaeologist at Giza, was asked a similar question about the Giza Plateau. His answer, “We have no idea”. These mysteries are out of the ordinary. They are anomalies that just shouldn’t have happened in a ‘we are alone in the cosmos’ scenario. Because the pyramids, Stonehenge and other stone monuments were built in early times, no stories have been written to explain how or why they were built.

Obviously if the indigenous people at that time had no written language, they couldn’t record anything they saw. However, the Ancient Egyptians did have language and left a huge volume of written material on walls, on papyrus and buried underground, and, since the hieroglyphs have been translated, we have a great deal more information now about the mythology of Ancient Egypt than we did back in the nineteenth century when the fantasies of men and women were ruled by Egyptomania.

Mark Lehner and his team have unearthed and published information about the builders who were housed and fed at Giza. It is estimated that 5,000 skilled craftsmen (not slaves) were responsible for building Giza over a 10 to 20 year period. Using this measure of building production, it is safe to estimate that over a billion man hours of work was done in megalithic times to build the monuments we see today. Eternity gives us a new lens to change our view about the presence of these monuments. Remember, in an eternal universe with infinite time anything that can happen will happen.

It is highly probable that the universe had no beginning, and in an eternal universe, it is highly unlikely that we are alone. There are an inestimable number of hours of work done on this planet in antiquity that are incomprehensible: Stonehenge, the Giza plateau, Chichen Itza, mounds, henges and barrows. The builders employed techniques we do not understand and they demonstrate the manipulation of massive stones to build monuments all over the planet. These constructions fit the criteria of a highly advanced civilization. I propose that this highly advanced civilization is us. We are the colonizers of the universe, and our planet is one of many colonies occupying our newly discovered local supercluster, Laniakea.
